Water Ladybird Anisosticta 19-puntata A pale red or yellowish ladybird measuring 3.8-4.5mm with nineteen black spots on the elytra (and more on the pronotum). It is rather more slender than most ladybirds. It is found in fens and marshes where adults and larvae feed on aphids. It is particularly associated with Reedmace and Common Reed and the adults can be found hibernating in the stems of these plants.
